VIDEO: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DESCALADA. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, announces three time slots for the entire population to go out on the streets this Saturday, May 2
Municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants will not have to comply with the time slots established by the central government to go for a walk or play sports as of this Saturday, May 2. This is the case of all the towns in the territory with the exception of Alcañiz, Caspe and Andorra. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has appeared in the Congress of Deputies this Thursday afternoon to report on this flexibility measure after the de-escalation plan was announced by provinces on Tuesday and the Autonomous Communities expressed their discontent for not being according to the «territorial reality».
In towns with more than 5,000 inhabitants, adults under 70 will be able to walk and practice individual physical activity from 6:00 to 10:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00. For their part, dependents and those over 70 years of age may do so from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 19.00 to 20.00. Children, who could already go out on the street since last Sunday, will have to do it from 12.00 to 19.00 (until now they could from 9.00 to 21.00).
As Illa already reported, the permissiveness of sports activity will be individual, without contact with another person, once a day and within the municipality. The walks can be done with a cohabiting person. People who have to leave accompanied may also do so with a caregiver once a day and no more than 1 kilometer away.
In the walk of the pets, the time limits of the age ranges of the people who walk them will be attended. Those who will not be able to leave home will be people with symptoms or affected by the coronavirus.
The Minister has explained that these measures to alleviate confinement are governed by time slots so that de-escalation is orderly and to avoid aggressions. In addition, he stressed that the number of recovered exceeds the number of newly infected. “Spain has gained weeks to recovery and will be one of the first countries to start de-escalation,” he said.
Salvador Illa has also announced that it will be possible to go to the orchards individually as of this Saturday, May 2, as long as they are in the same municipality or an adjacent one, without any type of restrictions.
